UPCOMING EVENTS IN BROMLEY (LONDON) AND THE SURROUNDING AREA

As mentioned in the previous post, there are plenty of things to do in Bromley. But apart from the venues and parks that are in town and you can visit them whenever you wish, there are one-off events happening in the area and below is a list of some of the highlights.

One of the fast approaching events in Bromley this month is the Landlords’ Fair. The event starts at 10am on 26th Oct 2013 and doors close at 6pm that day. At the day landlords will be able to meet with experts and discuss various topics concerning the current letting market and get tips on how to improve their rental business. Apart from the government bodies such as Housing Needs, Housing Enforcement and Housing Benefit services, there will be a few exhibitors which will hold short seminars on a variety of topics related to the property market.
The Landlords’ fair is held at 4th Floor, Bromley Central Library, BR1 1EX and there is no cost to attend it.

Crystal Palace International Film Festival (CPIFF) is an annual event that will probably attract more people. It will last two weeks between 26th Oct and 9th Nov 2013. For 4th consecutive year Crystal Palace is holding this event to provide an opportunity for international film makers to show their work to film professionals, journalists and the general public.
Some of the highlights of the festival are definitely the five big screen nights. On 26th Oct the Short Film and Curry Night takes place, followed by Halloween feature on 31st Oct. Halloween horror/sci-fi night is on 2nd Nov, the ticket for which costs £10 and includes free snacks, dips and nibbles. This is the night to dust off your fancy dress costumes, although they are not compulsory. On 7th Nov is the animation night followed by grand finale on 9th Nov. The Comedy Shorts and CPIFF Awards Night costs £18 and includes posh capanes. The dress code for this night as expected is dress to impress.
This event takes place at Crystal Palace, Bromley.

Another significant event in Bromley is the opening of the college campus. It starts on 16th Nov 2013 at 10am and will end at 2pm. This day prospective students have the chance to look around the college, check out the facilities and find out more about the range of courses available in the campus.
The address for this event is Bromley Campus, Rookery Lane, BR2 8HE and there is no cost for attendance.

In early December (5th), the Flint Street Nativity Charity Performance will take place, where all the money collected from the entrance fees will go to the Deaf Access organisation. At the event, the 8-year old pupils (which are actually played by adults) of the school will perform the nativity for their parents. The story is based on real events and is accompanied by original lyrics of the tunes.
If you want to attend the performance, head to Bromley Little Theatre, North Street, BR1 1SB
